Clermont Mine

Rio Tinto Coal Australia is currently constructing the Clermont Mine Project.

The Clermont deposit is contained within the Wolfang Basin, on the western margin of the Bowen Basin.

The major seam, named Wolfang, constitutes 90 per cent of the deposits' reserves and has an average thickness of 45 metres.

Clermont Mine will be an open cut truck/shovel operation with an inpit crushing and conveying system.

The coal will be transported via a 13.3 kilometre conveyor to the existing product stockyards, stacker/reclaimers and train loadout facilities at Blair Athol Mine. The coal will be railed 278 kilometres to the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.
